The Villain Theater Project

Nothing is more exciting to me than photographing actors just moments before they perform. The energy they transmit through their gaze is something I love to capture their soul is already there, alive with excitement, anticipation, and adrenaline. In each portrait, I try to move between the character they are about to embody and the real person behind that character, allowing both to exist within the same image. Much of this work is about communication and belonging: every photograph comes from the heart, from a deep enthusiasm for performance and from a genuine sense of belonging to the community I am photographing. Whether it is dance, musical theater, Shakespeare, improvisation, or a play, I am drawn to the self-expression that emerges through performance and to the extraordinary moment when an actor becomes both themselves and someone else.
